How Does Temporary Email Work?

Temporary email services provide a short-lived email address that can be used for selected sign-ups, verification messages and other short-term tasks.

1. Create a temporary address

A disposable address is generated without requiring you to publish your primary email address. Depending on the service, an address may remain active for a limited period.

2. Use the address

Enter the temporary address on a website that accepts disposable email. Common examples include a short-term test, a newsletter signup or a verification workflow where a disposable address is appropriate.

3. Check the inbox

Incoming messages can be displayed in the temporary inbox. A real-time inbox requires an active mail-receiving provider or server-side API connection; a static frontend alone cannot receive internet email.

4. Let it expire or clear it

When the temporary address is no longer needed, it can expire or be removed. Do not rely on it for account recovery or important messages that you may need later.

Separating disposable sign-ups from your main mailbox
